Obesity in America is at an all time epedimic high. It is long overdue to start addressing this very life-threatening issue.
Research on obesity presents us with obesity statistics that are merely mind-blowing.
Here is a quick statistic from 2007:
*27% of Americans are classified as obese
*Obesity is responsible for 325,000 deaths every year
*Obesity cost an estimated $75 billion in 2003 because of its long and expensive treatment
*300 million people worldwide are obese

*8 out of 10 individuals within the US over 25 years of age are overweight,

Obesity statistics also show increase in certain diseases among overweight and obese individuals:
*There was a 76% increase in type II diabetes, the type associated with obesity, in adults 30-40 years old since the year 1990,
*Heart disease is 70% connected to obesity,
*Breast cancer plus colon cancer is found in 42% of obese individuals,
*More than 25% of all obese people have hypertension (high blood pressure)
*More than 30% of all gall bladder operations are caused by obesity and/or being overweight
The causes of obesity are nearly perpetually identical:
*Eating foods that offer no nutritional value
*Overconsumption and improper eating habits
*Failing to remain physically active at the recommended levels
